Internships
Internships are for people to temporarily(1-4 months) join and live with a CALM cell to gain activist experience and guidance. As an intern you are required to get active, learn, and have fun.By the end of the internship you will:
- have created real change to help end the oppression of animals;
- have developed yourself as an activist;
- have gained a deep understanding of animal liberation and other movements;
- have met dozens of like minded veg*ns and activists; and
- have had a ton of fun.
Free housing (and everything else needed to live, like food) will be provided in a Veghouse, a veg*n community of people with an earnest desire to save the world. Unfortunately we don't have money to give a wage - but that's okay because we teach people how to live happily and successfully as a full time activist without a lot of money.
The focus of the internship will change depending on your interests. Animal Liberation can be pursued in many different ways. You will have access to mentors with a wealth of experience on many different forms of activism for liberation movements. If you have particular interests relating to animal liberation, such as food security or feminism, the work you do over your internship can be focused on those interests.
We are looking for Awesome/Nice Vegans or Vegetarians with an earnest desire to save the world/create positive change (this position suits less experienced activists well). You should be wiling to live cooperatively - communal dinners, upkeep, etc.
How to Apply-
We are looking for a sort of portfolio on you (nothing too intense though), outlining your experiences and ambitions in relation to creating positive change for animals (and the world). You can use any electronic medium (text document, slideshow presentation, video, flowchart, comic, audio file, etc.)
It would be awesome if you included things like: resume, examples of work/activism you've done (writing, art, websites, photos), some of your ambitions in life, plans to create positive change, what you are hoping to learn from this internship, proposed areas of work for the internship, and references of fellow veg/activists
Please include when you would like to start/end and any questions you may have about the internship
Please pass this on to any awesome/nice veg*ns with an earnest desire to save the world that you might know.
